Professional Acumen in Public Schools

Build practiced collaboration into the subjects students already study.

Use existing course material

Apply Teams of Three to a reading passage, mathematics problem, science investigation, or planning exercise. Students learn course material while practicing explanation, recording, questioning, and adjustment.

Every learner participates

Rotate Mentor → Scribe → Referee → Mentor. Support appropriate communication methods so every learner can contribute. A learner can explain orally, record with a suitable tool, or review using questions matched to the task.

Teacher time for individual help

Provide clear responsibilities so teams can continue while the teacher helps a learner. Begin with short familiar tasks, then vary difficulty and review focus. Check whether understanding improves and unnecessary work decreases.

Existing lesson resources

The site contains third-grade resources across English, mathematics, science, art and music, and physical education. Use them as source material for adaptation; suitability and current requirements depend on the school.
