Teams of Three and Practiced Learning
Make shared reasoning, useful contribution, and constructive review part of ordinary learning.
The working roles
The Mentor explains the proposed pathway, its assumptions, and needed support. The Scribe records it clearly, preserving gaps, questions, and revisions. The Referee examines reasoning, missing relationships, and consequences.
Every learner rotates
Mentor → Scribe → Referee → Mentor. The Mentor becoming Scribe fills gaps not articulated well verbally. The Scribe becoming Referee reviews with a more developed understanding. The Referee becoming Mentor approaches the problem from a wider perspective.
An ordinary lesson cycle
- Use a problem already belonging to the course.
- State the goal, time available, and resources.
- The Mentor explains, the Scribe records, and the Referee questions.
- Rotate all roles and improve the explanation.
- Review evidence, changes, and uncertainty.
- Apply the improved understanding to the next problem.
Teacher time and useful variation
Begin with familiar problems. Vary the task, recording method, time, and review focus without creating a separate subject or burdensome reporting. Teams practice reading body language and intonation, asking questions, and augmenting one another while the teacher gains time for individual help.
Practice clarification — October 7, 2026. Body language and intonation provide incomplete evidence. Separate observation from interpretation, record uncertainty, ask for clarification, and examine later evidence. Offer speech, writing, assistive tools, or another suitable channel. A style of expression alone does not establish emotional state, diagnosis, or competence.
More time for individual help is an intended benefit of this method, not a measured result established by this page. Check preparation burden, equitable participation, subject learning, and actual time available for individual support when trying a lesson.
Publication update — October 9, 2026. These reference materials are now published for reading in the existing Guidepost page layout. Earlier source notes about queued publication or an integration draft are retained as development history, not as the current publication status. Publication is not school authorization, permission to reuse the materials, an active training service, or an issued credential. Visual, mobile, keyboard and print verification remains pending; no new stylesheet or operating platform is introduced here.
Course integration review draft — not an operating program. The corrected v0.2 course is preserved below. Drafting-status and earlier publication instructions within that source describe its preparation history; they do not establish this page’s current publication or operational status. No school pilot, fee collection, credential or measured benefit is asserted.
Reading and review only. Existing Guidepost rights and restrictions remain in force. This integration draft grants no new reproduction, adaptation, classroom-use or commercial-use permission. School authorization, resources and any required written permissions remain separate requirements.
Related pathways: teacher preparation and the original monthly funding example.
Teacher training and classroom integration
Working development draft · v0.2. Practiced learning, subject integration and truthful evidence. No actual school pilot, paid launch or credential.
Source-reconciliation correction — October 9,2026. This v0.2 edition corrects the v0.1 funding interpretation against the published B1 school example and A3 assessor guide. B1 uses monthly shared costs, 56 trainer hours at $50 per hour, and an opening reserve separate from startup spending. The original v0.1 files remain preserved as superseded sources for these corrected fields. No actual prices, funds, school use, paid launch, credential or website publication are established by this revision.
Purpose and evidence status
Professional Acumen teacher training and classroom integration • Working design v0.2 • Revised October 9,2026, America/Los_Angeles; original v0.1 prepared October 8,2026 UTC / October 7,Pacific • Prepared for James Dunn and Guidepost.us. This E1 pack develops an eight-and-a-half-hour participant pathway, six facilitated modules, six complete subject lessons with solutions, instructor preparation, eight reusable records, B1-reconciled funding scenarios and a prospective school pilot. It is not the nine finished E2 textbooks.
Status: development draft, classroom use NOT_STARTED, school authority UNASSIGNED, empirical outcomes NOT_COLLECTED, paid launch NOT_AUTHORIZED, website publication QUEUED. No school, instructor, learner, fee, credential, continuing-education credit or observed classroom benefit is represented as approved or verified. Actual use needs the relevant school authority, funded staff capacity, appropriate access/data arrangements and material rights. All stories and numerical demonstrations are fictional; proposed schedules and thresholds are not validated benchmarks.
Existing Guidepost attribution and rights notices remain controlling. This review draft does not grant new reproduction, adaptation or commercial-use rights. Earlier sources and versions remain intact. A useful review resource can be published with its explicit limitations after current source/body/rights and display checks; actual school use and paid operation require their own resolved gates.
The model teachers must preserve
Every state in every interconnected human-interaction loop contains Critical Reasoning, Emotional Acumen, Social Acumen and Physical Health together. Separate prompts examine relationships among dimensions that remain intrinsic and mutually influential. They are not four sequential phases, independent numerical coordinates or a combined PA score. Change in knowledge, feedback, coordination, environment or workload can propagate across dimensions; trace the evidence and alternate explanations.
Professional Acumen is analytical and developmental, not an ethical doctrine, diagnosis, obedience test, human-worth grade or guarantee of harmless choices. Normative values, when relevant, enter separately. State evidence, uncertainty, alternatives, resources, consequences and feedback; permit supported disagreement.
| Term | Teaching meaning | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Respect | Earned and conveyed toward another person through a complex assessment of contribution and trustworthiness. | Contextual scalar approximation, expressed through interactions; not declared toward oneself. |
| Self-Respect | Outwardly expressed confidence and vulnerability that helps others respond and supplement knowledge. | Different from received Respect; eye contact, accent, gesture or volume alone cannot establish it. |
| Self-Esteem | Accumulated multidimensional scalar developing through appreciation, disdain and other interactions. | Do not infer its internal value from one gesture; task-specific Self-Efficacy is distinct. |
| Trust | Engineering scalar approximation associated with attributed Respect and developed Self-Esteem. | Record context, evidence and uncertainty; no permanent popularity/obedience rank. |
| Dimensional bleed | A candidate pathway by which change propagates across intrinsic dimensions. | Not a unique causal finding without appropriate evidence. |
Development pathway: contribution → supported practice → review of evidence → accurate respect → adjustment → greater responsibility → increasing trust → renewed engagement → repeat. This is a pathway to examine, not a universal promised law. The teacher’s interpretation, response and allocation of support participate in the loop.
Useful feedback: “You showed both quantities and repaired the missing unit. Please explain that check on the next task.” This conveys bounded appreciation and a supported opportunity. “You are a good person” or “You always have poor acumen” replaces useful evidence with a global judgment. Preserve correction, subsequent evidence and a chance to revise.
Run the complete Teams of Three cycle
Every learner rotates Mentor → Scribe → Referee → Mentor. Mentor explains the proposed approach and assumptions. Scribe records evidence, gaps and revisions. Referee questions reasoning, missing conditions and consequences. These are learning functions, not statutory Board, assessor or public authority. The Referee does not punish disagreement or rule on another learner’s worth.
| Round | Learner A | Learner B | Learner C |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Mentor | Scribe | Referee |
| 2 | Scribe | Referee | Mentor |
| 3 | Referee | Mentor | Scribe |
At each transition say: “Mentor, become Scribe and repair what you did not articulate clearly. Scribe, become Referee and question using the environment you now understand. Referee, become Mentor and explain from the broader perspective.” Repeat after round two; on the next cycle rotate again rather than assigning roles permanently by fluency or perceived ability.
Proposed 15-minute cycle:2 minutes individual reading; three 3-minute rounds;1 minute comparison of revisions;3 minutes individual exit response. Within a round, about 75 seconds Mentor explanation,45 seconds Scribe account,45 seconds Referee check and 15 seconds revision. These are starting allocations; slower communication, reading or access needs may require more time. Record actual timing rather than force a pace. The individual response checks subject understanding separately from a correct group answer.
| Variation | Change | Preserve |
|---|---|---|
| Familiar short task | Three 90-second rounds after accessible reading time. | Each learner performs every function; keep a correction and individual response. |
| Long investigation | Three 6-minute rounds with staged sources or changing constraints. | Transition purposes, original assumptions and later revisions. |
| Writing/assistive exchange | Mentor writes, types or dictates; Scribe organizes; Referee highlights a check. | Cognitive functions and rotation; no speech/eye-contact requirement. |
| Remote/asynchronous | School-approved accessible channel, labeled rounds and a bounded response window. | Confirm access before treating a missing response as poor learning; no public child records. |
| Class size not divisible by three | An adult-supported triad where feasible; in a group of four, one independently solves, then enters a later cycle as another independently solves. | Plan enough cycles for everyone to complete all roles; observer-only attendance is not role completion. |
| Conflict or prerequisite gap | Pause, check access/information, offer worked support, redistribute cards and restart or use individual instruction. | No forced continuation of a harmful interaction; teacher retains safety/instruction responsibility. |
Intervention ladder: check task clarity and access; ask which evidence is being used; prompt one missing condition; provide a worked example if prerequisites are absent; resume a supported cycle or change the plan. A fluent learner’s answer cannot stand for every learner’s evidence.
Six facilitated modules
Participant pathway: six 60-minute facilitated modules=360 minutes; two 60-minute field allocations for preparation/use/reflection=120 minutes; final individual portfolio reflection=30 minutes. Total 510 minutes=eight and a half hours. Each field allocation budgets 10 minutes preparation,40 minutes of class use and 10 minutes reflection; record actual effort and revise the allocation if support/access needs more time. Field work may use an existing class slot rather than add student contact hours; record teacher preparation, classroom and reflection separately. Sessions may run weekly or as two days of three modules. Breaks, meals and additional access time are extra and must be scheduled/funded explicitly.
Materials: one familiar subject problem per teacher, the role matrix, accessible selected lesson cards, a clock, school-approved writing/assistive tools and the eight records. Prerequisites: competence in the chosen subject, normal classroom responsibility and access to the school’s approval process. No PA certificate is needed to learn. No routine video, private health history or public student ledger is required.
M01 · Observe before interpreting
Outcome: Separate observation, report, interpretation and unknown; apply current scalar definitions.
60-minute session: 8 min individual observation/inference sorting;10 min trainer demonstration/definitions;15 min complete triad cycle;10 min alternative explanations;10 min individual rewrite;7 min feedback.
Q-M01: A learner looks down, speaks quietly and omits a number. The observer writes “does not care and cannot cooperate.” Replace the record and choose a next check.
Worked response Q-M01
Observed: looked down, low audible volume in this room, omitted one specified quantity. Motivation and competence are not established. Possible explanations include rereading, task uncertainty, inaccessible sound or preferred communication style. Ask for the calculation through a suitable channel, clarify the missing quantity and check practical access/workload without demanding private health information. C concerns the task evidence; E the reaction to feedback; S the exchange; P practical access and conditions. The teacher’s disdain might change later participation, but that pathway needs subsequent evidence. Revise after the learner clarifies.
M02 · Practice every transition
Outcome: Perform all roles and explain how each transition changes understanding.
60-minute session: 8 min retrieval of transition purposes;10 min modeled explanation/gap repair;18 min L01 cycle with reading/access;10 min compare oral and written accounts;8 min rehearsal through another channel;6 min individual feedback.
Q-M02: One confident learner remains Mentor for three rounds while the others keep initial roles. The group answer is correct. Was the intended practice completed?
Worked response Q-M02
No. Preserve the correct subject answer, but role completion is not demonstrated. Apply the A/B/C matrix and individual checks. Mentor-to-Scribe repairs verbal gaps; Scribe-to-Referee uses the recorded environment; Referee-to-Mentor broadens explanation. Repeated allocation to one fluent speaker limits others’ evidence and opportunity. Correct the allocation without blaming confidence. All four dimensions remain present in evidence use, feedback, coordination and workable access.
M03 · Integrate the main subject
Outcome: Adapt familiar subject content with staged evidence, a complete cycle and an individual check.
60-minute session: 8 min name subject objective/prerequisite;10 min integrated versus displaced-subject example;15 min L02 or L03 cycle;12 min T01 adaptation;9 min peer content/access/solution check;6 min individual feedback.
Q-M03: A40-minute arithmetic lesson becomes 25 minutes abstract PA terminology and 15 minutes calculation. Propose a usable integrated alternative.
Worked response Q-M03
One defensible plan is 5 min retrieval/prerequisite instruction,7 min worked example,15 min triad arithmetic,8 min individual work and 5 min review. Use short role prompts instead of an unrelated terminology lecture. It is a proposed schedule, not measured success. If prerequisites are missing, reteach and adjust timing. State objective, units, complete solutions, individual evidence and access choices. Information, feedback, interaction and physical conditions remain simultaneous considerations.
M04 · Observe and give revisable feedback
Outcome: Separate subject accuracy, reasoning, role practice and revision without a global PA grade.
60-minute session: 8 min compare feedback;10 min nine-field event demonstration;15 min L04 cycle;10 min independent work-sample comparison;11 min feedback/support draft;6 min individual check.
Q-M04: The group product is correct but one learner’s exit calculation is wrong. How should progress be recorded?
Worked response Q-M04
Retain the correct group product and the specific independent error separately. Group correctness cannot establish that learner’s understanding. Ask for the step, supply a bounded worked example or prerequisite support and check a new individual attempt. Distinguish reasoning error, absent information and access. Appreciate a supported contribution and offer a next task; do not infer internal Self-Esteem, diagnosis or human worth. Retain later evidence and observer disagreement rather than average it into a global rank.
M05 · Measure teacher time and access
Outcome: Record elapsed time, concurrent support, preparation and unmet needs honestly.
60-minute session: 8 min identify existing work/reporting;10 min clock-category demonstration;15 min L05 cycle;10 min T04 time calculation;11 min access adaptation;6 min individual feedback.
Q-M05: Teacher help lasts 12 minutes inside a 15-minute triad block and 8 minutes outside it. May elapsed time be counted as 15+12+8?
Worked response Q-M05
No. The 12 minutes are nested within the 15-minute elapsed block. With 8 minutes outside it, elapsed time is 23 minutes and individual help is 20 minutes. More help minutes alone do not show better learning or lower burden. Check independent subject work, who received help, unmet needs, preparation and access. Accurate records/C, feedback/E, support allocation/S and workload/space/P interact.
M06 · Plan a funded bounded pilot
Outcome: Reconcile practice, evidence status, costs, capacity and real authority before use.
60-minute session: 8 min retrieve improvement/open issue;10 min pilot/authority boundaries;15 min L06 cycle;12 min T05/T07 preparation;9 min peer review of stop/cost/access gates;6 min individual next-step record.
Q-M06: Twenty teachers pay an assumed $500 and four places are waived. Projected cohort cost is $7,000. Does the $3,000 difference establish profit, a certificate or teacher-time savings?
Worked response Q-M06
Projected revenue 20×$500=$10,000; difference before shared/startup/excluded costs=$3,000. No actual receipt exists. Waived places consume delivery resources. For two modeled cohorts in one month with $4,000 monthly shared expense, the monthly operating balance is $2,000. Neither money assumptions nor attendance establish credential authority or measured learning/time benefit. Verify payer, rights, available funds, staff capacity and actual school authority. Consider all four dimensions when allocating work, support and opportunity.
Trainer reviews one individual response per module rather than every group sentence. Preserve a specific correction and next practice. A missed session requires equivalent all-role practice and individual evidence, not an attendance fiction. Developmental trainer feedback is distinct from independent consequential credential review; A1–A4 remain controlling for any actual credential route.
Trainer demonstration and counterexample
Three adults portray a fictional group. Give A a card stating 18 containers, B a card stating four teams need four containers each, and C a card stating two containers cannot be used. Keep cards distinct initially, then ask the group to make the information available.
Mentor says “18 is more than 16, so we have enough.” Scribe records need 4×4=16 and reserve 2. Referee asks whether all 18 are usable. Release the two-unusable condition: usable 16, reserve 0. The initial arithmetic was right under an incomplete availability assumption. Preserve the assumption and revision instead of labeling the speaker incompetent.
Rotate: A repairs the missing usable-versus-total distinction as Scribe; B uses the record to ask what happens if one more is lost as Referee; C explains 15 usable and shortage 1 as Mentor. Rotate again and consider borrowing one or changing the plan. Neither is automatically authorized or feasible. Individual transfer:20 containers,3 unusable, need 16; reserve 20−3−16=1, conditional on complete counts and requirement.
Feedback script: “You exposed an availability condition and revised the reserve. I can rely on that check for this inventory if you verify the current count. What could change your conclusion?” This conveys bounded Respect and a supported opportunity. Admitting the missing condition can express Self-Respect; the record cannot establish internal Self-Esteem. Trust remains contextual. C concerns quantity/assumptions; E response to correction; S distributed cards/coordination; P usable safe materials and workable access. No actual health condition is inferred.
Counterexample for adult discussion only: rank the three people by voice volume and first answer. What was lost? Answer: unequal card access, original assumptions, later correction and individual understanding; expression style was substituted for evidence. Replace ranking with a revisable event and supported next task. Do not stage real-child humiliation as a teaching demonstration.
Six complete subject lessons and solutions
Proposed 40-minute lesson pattern:5 min prerequisite/retrieval check;7 min worked example;15 min full triad cycle with staged information;8 min individual work/feedback;5 min review. Add or redistribute reading/access time based on need and record deviations. On first use allow additional explanation; no claim the schedule has been achieved. Use a later short retrieval question to revisit the corrected relationship. Each lesson includes a transfer question with a worked response.
L01 · The garden cups — reading and arithmetic
Audience: Elementary, approximately grades 1–3; kindergarten adaptation below.
Main-subject objective: Identify facts in a short story and explain addition/subtraction or repeated addition.
Prerequisites/access: Count to 20; distinguish total and usable; provide objects/drawing, large print, read-aloud and spoken/pointed/written answers.
Read: Mina, Leo and Jo prepare a class garden. There are 18 cups. Four groups plan four seeds each, one seed per cup. Two cups are cracked and unusable. Mina looks at the table. Leo guesses she is upset; Mina says she was rereading the group count.
- A:18 cups; B:four groups need four each; C:two unusable, reveal after first explanation.
- Round 1 calculate from available cards. Rotate for round 2, share usability and clarify the gesture. Rotate for round 3:one more usable cup is damaged.
Every-state relationships: Think/C:story/count; Feel/E:correction/appreciation; Together/S:card sharing and guesses; Body/P:safe materials, readable access and manageable activity. All are present in each round.
- Q-L01-1: How many cups are required and usable after the two cracks are excluded?
- Q-L01-2: What is round 3’s shortage, and what can be concluded about Mina’s gesture?
- Q-L01-3: Transfer:20 cups,3 unusable, same requirement. Calculate the reserve and describe a check.
Complete solutions L01
Q-L01-1: Need 4×4=16; usable 18−2=16; reserve 0. Assumes accurate count and one cup per seed. Show four groups of four or repeated addition, then verify usable count.
Q-L01-2: Usable 18−2−1=15; shortage 16−15=1. Borrowing one requires availability and teacher permission; changing allocations changes the plan. Looking at the table is observation; being upset is interpretation. Mina’s clarification is relevant, not a forced emotional disclosure. Subsequent task evidence can revise the record; no health/competence diagnosis follows.
Q-L01-3: 20−3=17 usable;17−16=1 reserve. Recount and check safe usable materials through an adult-approved method; new damage/group size changes the result. Preserve original and corrected counts.
Retain original assumptions and correction; calculations do not establish every consequence. Accept supported alternatives and justified indeterminacy. Re-check on changed evidence; no forced consensus or global person judgment.
Individual check: Each learner gives the transfer calculation and distinguishes one fact from one guess. Correct group work alone does not demonstrate individual learning.
Boundary: Use drawings or safe school-approved objects; no unsupervised handling of cracked materials. Do not mark eye contact, cheerful expression or agreement as PA.
L02 · The reading corner — area and a Goal Tree
Audience: Elementary, approximately grades 4–6.
Main-subject objective: Calculate rectangular area and complete costs, then revise a constrained resource plan.
Prerequisites/access: Area/units, decimal arithmetic; offer grid paper, accessible dimensions and calculator if the subject permits.
Read: A3 m by 2 m corner needs 1-square-metre mats. Fictional supplier A costs $8 each plus $10 delivery; B costs $9 each with delivery included. Budget $60. Later A can deliver only five mats by the date; B has six.
- A:dimensions and coverage; B:A terms/budget; C:B terms, later availability.
- Round 1 compute area/cost. Rotate for round 2 and release stock/date. Rotate for round 3:budget falls to $50; propose a conditional plan.
Every-state relationships: C:area/cost/completeness; E:response to a constraint and calibrated promises; S:shared evidence/negotiation; P:physical fit, space and accessible measurement.
- Q-L02-1: How many mats are needed, and what are the full modeled costs and remaining original budget?
- Q-L02-2: What changes when A has only five by the date? Give a bounded Goal Tree.
- Q-L02-3: Transfer:budget $50. What follows, and what evidence could change the decision?
Complete solutions L02
Q-L02-1: Area 3×2=6 square metres; six mats under the no-gap/fit assumption. A=6×$8+$10=$58, leaving $2. B=6×$9=$54, leaving $6. B is $4 lower under the fictional terms. Taxes/other real charges are not included; area does not alone establish safe fit.
Q-L02-2: A cannot meet stated coverage/date with five. Goal Tree:confirm dimensions/terms/permission→verify stock/date→approved acquisition→safe coverage check→budget/result review. B’s six may meet the count if fit/date are verified. A Referee cannot authorize a purchase.
Q-L02-3: Neither full modeled option fits $50. No unique next action is established. Seek revised scope/date, verified borrowing or authorized added $4 for B; do not assume money/donations. A partial area must be explicitly acceptable. Complete terms, stock, fit or authority could change the decision.
Retain original assumptions and correction; calculations do not establish every consequence. Accept supported alternatives and justified indeterminacy. Re-check on changed evidence; no forced consensus or global person judgment.
Individual check: Individual exit:2 m by 2 m at $9 per 1-square-metre mat costs $36 under the fit/no-other-charge model; learner states the assumptions.
Boundary: No real purchase or installation authorized. A Goal Tree organizes evidence and dependencies, not proof that the selected goal is desirable.
L03 · Seedling evidence — science and percentages
Audience: High school science; simplify numbers for an upper-elementary adaptation.
Main-subject objective: Compute proportions and distinguish descriptive association from causal evidence.
Prerequisites/access: Fractions/percentages and comparison conditions; use accessible text table and a worked fraction example.
Read: Fictional tray A has 8 of 10 seedlings upright, B5 of 10. A is nearer a window; soil and waterer differ. Later two B seedlings are reported knocked over before counting. No repeated run or random assignment exists.
- A:counts; B:placement/soil/waterer co-vary; C:damage report, later no recorded membership linking upright seedlings to the uninjured subset.
- Round 1 compute initial difference. Rotate for round 2 and release co-varying conditions. Rotate for round 3 and release damage; design a next observation.
Every-state relationships: C:denominator/causal alternatives; E:response to disappointing results and revision; S:shared measurement/observer participation; P:safe handling, workload and accessible counting.
- Q-L03-1: Compute percentages/difference and state a warranted claim.
- Q-L03-2: May B silently become 5/8 as a correction, and does window placement explain the difference?
- Q-L03-3: Transfer:propose a better comparison and a possible null/contrary observation.
Complete solutions L03
Q-L03-1: A8/10=80%; B5/10=50%; difference 30 percentage points. Relative increase compared to B would be 30/50=60%if requested; that is a different quantity. Warranted claim:upright counts differed under these recorded conditions.
Q-L03-2: No silent change:preserve original 5/10. Exploratory 5/8=62.5%would require an explicitly defined uninjured subset and proof all five upright belong to it; membership is missing here. It is not the same measure or an unbiased correction. Soil/waterer/handling/placement co-vary; no unique causal conclusion about the window is justified.
Q-L03-3: Define upright before counting, keep selected other conditions comparable, record handling/assignment and plan repeated observations within school-approved safe procedures. A comparable repeat with no consistent placement difference weakens the initial claim; retain null results. No finite small trial proves every cause absent.
Retain original assumptions and correction; calculations do not establish every consequence. Accept supported alternatives and justified indeterminacy. Re-check on changed evidence; no forced consensus or global person judgment.
Individual check: Each learner calculates and names one warranted claim, one unsupported causal claim and one confound.
Boundary: Fabricated learning dataset, not biological/medical research or evidence of PA effectiveness. No learner health is inferred from a tray result.
L04 · Three forwards, one source — literacy
Audience: High school English, social studies or media literacy.
Main-subject objective: Identify source dependence and write a calibrated claim with revised evidence.
Prerequisites/access: Locate speaker/date/context; plain-text, large-print and read-aloud alternatives.
Read: A fictional message says deadline Friday. An undated screenshot repeats it; two friends forward the screenshot. An older handout says Monday. Later a teacher note says Monday is current and Friday was last term’s example. Jo pauses; a classmate calls that dishonest.
- A:message/screenshot; B:two dependent forwards and handout; C:later currency/context note.
- Round 1 distinguish transmissions/sources. Rotate for round 2 and compare dates/context. Rotate for round 3 and revise on the note while retaining conditions.
Every-state relationships: C:source independence; E:uncertainty/accusation; S:forwarding and clarification; P:readable display, processing time and manageable digital load.
- Q-L04-1: Are screenshot plus two forwards three independent confirmations?
- Q-L04-2: What should be said before and after the current note, and what remains to check?
- Q-L04-3: Transfer:separate Jo’s pause from dishonesty and propose a useful response.
Complete solutions L04
Q-L04-1: No. Three transmissions depend on one copied source; repetition is not independent confirmation. Record provenance instead of multiplying evidence.
Q-L04-2: Before:“Materials conflict and some lack dates; I need the current class/project notice.” After:if the note concerns this class/project and current communication channel, revise the plan to Monday and preserve the earlier uncertainty. Teacher authority alone does not prove every claim; new evidence remains relevant.
Q-L04-3: A pause is observed; dishonesty is an unsupported interpretation. Ask which source/date Jo is checking and allow a suitable channel. Reading, uncertainty, access or other conditions are possible, not findings. No diagnosis follows. Feedback may affect future participation and opportunity; observe later evidence.
Retain original assumptions and correction; calculations do not establish every consequence. Accept supported alternatives and justified indeterminacy. Re-check on changed evidence; no forced consensus or global person judgment.
Individual check: Individual response identifies source dependence and writes a justified revised message with a remaining condition.
Boundary: Use invented messages, not private student chats. Do not import nonprofit member-business transparency into child records.
L05 · Teacher help — time and allocation
Audience: Upper elementary/high school project planning or teacher training.
Main-subject objective: Reconcile elapsed time with concurrent activities and revise a feasible schedule.
Prerequisites/access: Addition and intervals; simple table with verbal/visual explanation.
Read: A40-minute lesson uses 5 min opening,7 worked example,15 triad,8 individual work,5 review. Inside triad practice, the teacher plans two 4-minute appointments and 2 minutes movement. Later 6 minutes whole-class reteaching are needed inside the same block.
- A:lesson segments; B:appointments/movement inside triad; C:later reteaching.
- Round 1 verify schedule. Rotate for round 2 and release reteaching. Rotate for round 3 and revise while recording unmet support.
Every-state relationships: C:timing/arithmetic; E:honest promises; S:allocation and group independence; P:movement, fatigue, accessible space and pace.
- Q-L05-1: Does the original schedule fit and how much teacher time remains inside the triad block?
- Q-L05-2: Can all teacher activities still fit sequentially with reteaching?
- Q-L05-3: Transfer:revise the plan and state evidence needed before claiming a teacher-time benefit.
Complete solutions L05
Q-L05-1: 5+7+15+8+5=40 minutes. Inside triad:15−4−4−2=5 minutes remain under the simplified non-overlap assumption. Appointments are nested and not added to elapsed lesson time. Actual transitions/access may differ and need measurement.
Q-L05-2: 4+4+2+6=16 minutes, one more than the 15-minute block. Unsupported to promise both unchanged appointments without changing the plan. Divided attention is not equivalent to uninterrupted help.
Q-L05-3: One feasible revision:4 min first appointment+2 movement+6 reteach+3 shorter second check=15; retain need for follow-up support. Another is revising another segment after objective review. No unique best plan follows. Check independent subject work, actual support minutes/distribution, unmet needs, preparation and access; more help minutes alone do not establish benefit.
Retain original assumptions and correction; calculations do not establish every consequence. Accept supported alternatives and justified indeterminacy. Re-check on changed evidence; no forced consensus or global person judgment.
Individual check: Each learner explains nested time and revises one allocation while preserving the unmet need.
Boundary: Teacher remains responsible for instruction and safety; stop an appointment if others need immediate support.
L06 · A useful school offer — enterprise
Audience: Teacher training, high school enterprise or business adaptation; fictional money.
Main-subject objective: Calculate revenue/cost/balance and distinguish capacity, cash and authority.
Prerequisites/access: Multiplication/subtraction and basic revenue/expense distinctions.
Read: A24-place cohort has 20 paid at assumed $500 and four waived. Modeled provider cost $7,000 per cohort; the monthly scenario has two cohorts and $4,000 shared cost per month. Later paying enrollment falls to 16 per cohort; four waived remain and costs are unchanged unless reviewed scope changes.
- A:places/fee; B:cohort/shared expenses; C:lower enrollment without approved grant or reduced cost.
- Round 1 compute base. Rotate for round 2 and release low enrollment. Rotate for round 3 and propose a funded conditional adjustment.
Every-state relationships: C:budget/assumptions; E:calibrated deficit communication; S:waivers, payer and independent partners; P:teacher release/workload/access resources.
- Q-L06-1: What are the base and lower-enrollment monthly operating balances with two cohorts per month?
- Q-L06-2: Are waived places costless or a proposed donation received cash?
- Q-L06-3: Transfer:one cohort in a month with 20 paid and the same $4,000 monthly shared cost; calculate the monthly balance and next checks.
Complete solutions L06
Q-L06-1: Monthly base revenue 2×20×$500=$20,000; monthly expense 2×$7,000+$4,000=$18,000; monthly balance $2,000 before startup/exclusions. Low revenue 2×16×$500=$16,000; same expense $18,000; deficit $2,000. No actual receipts. Unused places do not automatically eliminate fixed delivery costs.
Q-L06-2: No. Waived learners use staff/material/access/review resources. A proposed donation, pledge, restricted award, held reserve and unrestricted received cash are distinct. Verify control, timing and permissible use; do not invent funding or redirect restricted resources.
Q-L06-3: For the one-cohort month, revenue $10,000−$7,000−$4,000=−$1,000 monthly balance. Check real payer, authorized offer/rights, collected cash/refund terms, staff/access capacity and shared allocation. Conditional options:funded smaller pilot, delay or verified subsidy; no automatic authority, credential or profit distribution follows.
Retain original assumptions and correction; calculations do not establish every consequence. Accept supported alternatives and justified indeterminacy. Re-check on changed evidence; no forced consensus or global person judgment.
Individual check: Each learner explains the deficit and one missing real condition; willingness to buy is not an assessment criterion.
Boundary: No paid student work, contract or purchase authorized. Independently established for-profits license nonprofit products under actual agreements; they are not default subsidiaries.
Kindergarten L01 adaptation:6 cups, two groups need two each, one unusable. Usable 5;need 4;reserve 1. Use pictures/objects and adult-supported role functions with pointing/dictation instead of requiring fluent reading. Older learners can add a delayed effect or compare two missing-condition interpretations. Change developmental complexity and support, not just terminology. E2 remains responsible for the continuing paired teacher/student books.
Observe, respond and revise
Sample one useful short event rather than exhaustive surveillance. Keep all nine curriculum event fields; teacher feedback and opportunity allocation belong in the account. Preserve original work, participant disagreement and observer uncertainty. Public nonprofit organizational-business visibility does not imply public classroom learner records.
| Nine-field event | Fictional worked account |
|---|---|
| Event context | L01 round 1; A as Mentor;18-cup card visible; unusable-cup card not yet shared; accessible print provided. |
| Observed contribution | A wrote 18−16=2 and said reserve 2. Direct work observation, not a character report. |
| Interpretation | Probably used total instead of usable count. Alternatives:card unavailable, instruction misunderstood or recording error. |
| Uncertainty and bias | Teacher expected a quick answer and did not check card access. Motivation and health unknown. |
| Four-dimensional relationships | C:quantity distinction; E:response to correction; S:card access/questioning; P:readability/workable pace. No four-number score. |
| Conveyed response | Teacher asked which cups were usable, appreciated correct need calculation and shared the condition card. |
| Participant clarification | A said cracked cups were missing from the first card and described the revised count; no private disclosure required. |
| Subsequent evidence | A wrote usable 16/reserve 0; individual transfer usable 17/reserve 1. Sustained inference needs more later evidence. |
| Revision and next support | Revise careless-subtraction interpretation to missing-condition issue; next task states usable count first, then individual check. |
| Criterion | Task-bounded evidence | Next feedback |
|---|---|---|
| Subject accuracy | Correct quantities/units or a specified error in individual work. | Name the step and provide prerequisite/example support. |
| Evidence/uncertainty | Observation/report/inference distinguished; missing condition named. | Ask what would change the conclusion. |
| Role/information integration | Every function and transition evidenced; cards shared, gap repaired. | Prompt missing function without fixing roles by ability. |
| Revision | Original and corrected work plus reason retained. | Appreciate a supported correction and next opportunity. |
| Access/workable conditions | Chosen channel works; space/load checked without private diagnosis. | Adjust support/environment and check the effect. |
Descriptors: not yet evidenced; demonstrated with support; demonstrated in this task; further evidence needed. These are editorial descriptive terms, not validated scale points. Normal school subject marking remains distinct from developmental PA observations. No silent promotion into discipline, credential or research findings. Retain conflicting observer accounts and identify the needed check rather than averaging a global grade.
Feedback script: “I observed[specific work]. I interpreted it as[bounded meaning], but[alternative/unknown]remains. What information should I add? Here is[support/next task]. We will check[observable evidence]at[point].” The learner may dispute the record or use another communication channel without being required to disclose private emotions or health.
Two fictional work samples for observer practice
Both learners receive the complete L01 transfer data:20 cups,3 unusable,16 needed. Work sample A writes “20−3=17;17−16=1 reserve” and asks whether any additional cups are damaged. Work sample B writes “20−16=4 reserve” and says there is no need to inspect usability.
Independent observer task and worked interpretation: Review each calculation before comparing with another prepared reviewer. A demonstrates correct usable-count subtraction in this task and a relevant remaining check. B correctly subtracts the requirement from total count but omits the stated usability condition; the transfer answer is incorrect. Ask B to identify which cups can be used, provide the missing-condition prompt and check a new independent example. Neither sample establishes enduring capability, motivation, cooperation, health or human worth. C concerns the calculation/assumption; E how feedback and revision are approached; S the observer/learner exchange; P practical material usability and accessible conditions. Preserve any observer disagreement and the evidence needed to resolve it. Developmental support belongs in the next allocation, not a permanent rank.
Eight reusable record structures
Use the pilot-readiness and service-scope packet to expand T05 and T07 into linked review sheets. It includes blank real-world fields and fictional missing-permission, absence, complex-review and training-only cases. The original T01–T08 structures below remain unchanged; publication is not approval for actual use.
These are proposed structures, not active forms; they collect nothing. Use existing school tools where possible and avoid duplicate reports. Keep learner identifiers, work and support details in appropriately school-controlled records. Only release authorized summaries after checking re-identification risk; the applicable data-use/retention rules must be resolved by the actual custodian before use.
| ID | Purpose | Fields | Example/boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| T01 | Lesson adaptation | Subject objective/prerequisites; familiar task and staged cards; A/B/C rotation/purposes; accessible expression; planned/actual timing; Q IDs/full solutions; individual exit evidence; delayed check. | L01:count within 20; familiar cup drawing; large print/spoken answer; condition card released after initial approach; Q-L01-3 exit. Prep estimate 10 min, actual not yet measured. |
| T02 | Role record | Local session/learner codes under school control; roles by round; function evidence; missing role/access cause; support/make-up and next opportunity. | A=M/S/R,B=S/R/M,C=R/M/S. Absent B round 3 means missingMentor; do not mark complete from attendance. |
| T03 | Event/feedback | All nine fields above; work source; criterion descriptors; participant correction; observer disagreement and next check. | Use the worked event; preserve original count, card access and later transfer. |
| T04 | Time/resources | Class elapsed minutes; mutually exclusive teacher-attention categories; concurrent student activity; individual-help episodes/distribution/unmet need; extra prep/setup/reflection; access/resource changes; interruptions/missingness. | Log help within triad time as nested activity, not extra elapsed minutes; fictional time example below. |
| T05 | Pilot decision | Actual school lead/teacher; purpose/data use; proposed lesson/date; approvals/rights/access; data custodian/access/retention under applicable school rules; comparison; stops; funded release; signatures only if real. | Actual authority/signature fields UNASSIGNED; design review is not recruitment or research approval. |
| T06 | Teacher portfolio | T01; own all-role evidence/transition explanation; one inference correction; two classroom attempts or explicitly labeled simulations; individual subject/transfer answers; burden review; next support/open gates. | Keep SIMULATION label if no actual class use. Accurate attendance record is not a credential/credit issuance. |
| T07 | Offer/cost/capacity | Payer/beneficiary/scope; rights/contract authority; cap/waivers; trainer/reviewer hours; cash/in-kind costs; receipt versus pledge; shared/startup/reserve; refund/access/rework terms for review; launch state. | B1 projected 24 places 20 paid 4 waived; hypothetical prices; school release separate; launch authority unknown. |
| T08 | Review/change | Version/task; observations/missingness; learner/teacher/observer accounts; access/harm/unmet support; alternatives; keep/change/stop; owner/resources/date; later check; E3 and publication handoff. | Retain null/worse results and original versions; do not relabel failure as success. |
Low-burden routine:prepare T01 once and revise when needed; T02 samples role completion; T03 records one useful event; T04 logs on planned evaluation days. T05/T07 are launch records, not daily chores. T06/T08 compile selected evidence, correction and missingness. Reporting time is itself a pilot outcome; no assumption that the forms are costless.
Instructor preparation and ongoing quality
Proposed readiness:subject competence; current PA boundaries/definitions; all-role demonstration; modeled mistake/correction; observation versus inference; accessible expression; specific feedback; truthful timing/cost account. These are development requirements, not accreditation or licensure rules.
| Preparation | Practiced evidence | When incomplete |
|---|---|---|
| Reconcile source | Read v0.3 sections 0–4/14–21; explain current scalars and transitions in own words. | Correct conflicts with historical Stars/scorecards; retain originals. |
| Two adult rehearsals | Familiar and staged-condition lessons; candidate performs each role and models correction. | Support/rehearse; no global rank from one attempt. |
| Subject/access adaptation | T01 with accurate complete solutions, prerequisite check and suitable channels. | Subject specialist corrects content before learner use. |
| Independent observation practice | Analyze demonstration and one work sample independently, then compare evidence with another prepared reviewer. | Retain unresolved differences; identify missing check. |
| Time/resources | Reconcile participant 8.5 h, provider staffing, release/access and real room/remote needs. | Fund or review reduced scope before promising service. |
| Actual authorization | Rights, school authority, resources and required data/use arrangements resolved. | Keep READY_FOR_REVIEW/SIMULATION; no actual pilot/paid launch. |
| First supported use | Observer checks fidelity, subject evidence, access, feedback and burden. | Stop/revise unsafe/exclusionary practice or displaced instruction. |
| Refresh | Review issues each cohort/change; proposed annual full source/access refresh. | Schedule is a proposal, not completed oversight. |
B1 capacity illustration:56 trainer hours per cohort at the assumed $50 per hour gives $2,800. A new editorial allocation for this E1 design is preparation/adaptation 10 h+facilitated contact 6 h+classroom/coaching support 24 h+developmental portfolio feedback 8 h+review/rework 8 h=56 h. This allocation is a proposal, not a measured workload or a breakdown previously specified by B1. A3 supplies a distinct proposed 48-hour consequential-review allocation:30 assessor hours plus 18 independent decision-review hours (24 applicants×1.25 assessor hours and 24×0.75 decision-review hours), using different qualified unconflicted people under real A1–A4 authority. Coordinator 20 h at $40 remains an E1 interpretation of B1’s $800 coordination allowance, not a separately verified B1 hours schedule. Trainer feedback is not double-billed as independent credential review. B1’s two-cohort monthly throughput assumes 112 trainer and 96 reviewer hours; its six-week cohort duration requires a feasible overlapping schedule and actual staff availability before commitments. The participant’s 8.5-hour learning pathway is not the provider’s total staffing workload. Site visits, interpretation, additional access or complex cases need extra estimated/funded hours before commitment; waived teachers retain equal instructional access.
No guaranteed pass is sold. If independent credential assessment is unavailable, deliver only the authorized learning service and label the credential component unavailable. A trainer attendance note cannot replace an independent issuance decision. Actual certification status, appeal, renewal and public-field controls remain A1–A4/H4.
Payers, prices, resources and cash
USD assumptions below reconcile the B1 example in the live Sustainable Funding page, section #school-example, read October 9,2026. They are not real prices, quotes, approved offers or receipts. Twenty paid places at $500 support 24 participants with four waived places. The operating comparison is MONTHLY, with two cohorts in the base month and $4,000 monthly shared cost. Capacity also depends on actual staffing/access resources and the overlapping six-week cohort schedule.
| Provider cost per modeled cohort | Assumption | Amount |
|---|---|---|
| Trainer | 56 h×$50 | $2,800 |
| Separate proposed independent consequential evidence review | (30 assessor h+18 independent decision-review h)×$40;A1–A4 authority gates remain | $1,920 |
| Materials | 24×$20 | $480 |
| Coordination | 20 h×$40 | $800 |
| Allocated delivery resources | Fictional room/tools/access allowance; actual fit unknown | $1,000 |
| Total | Trainer feedback not double counted as independent review | $7,000 |
Training-only comparison:remove separate $1,920 consequential-review component to give $5,080 modeled training delivery cost with other assumptions unchanged. This is a scope comparison, not a new approved price or permission to underfund assessment. Real training-only offers must state included coaching/development feedback and accurately exclude unavailable credential services. The $500 assumption is retained only for the original B1 bundle projection.
| Monthly scenario | Monthly revenue | Monthly operating expense | Monthly balance before startup/exclusions |
|---|---|---|---|
| Two cohorts 20 paid each | $20,000 | $14,000 delivery+$4,000 shared=$18,000 | $2,000 |
| Two cohorts 16 paid each | $16,000 | Unchanged $18,000 | −$2,000 |
| One cohort 20 paid | $10,000 | $7,000+$4,000=$11,000 | −$1,000 |
| Two-cohort operating break-even | 36 paid places in the month×$500=$18,000 | $18,000 | Zero; seat/waiver/staff fit still needed |
B1 startup spending:$6,000 curriculum/resources+$3,000 assessor preparation+$2,000 administration/setup=$11,000. Add the separately held $4,000 opening reserve for $15,000 initial funding required. The opening reserve is not startup expense. In each uninterrupted base month, B1 proposes allocating the $2,000 operating surplus as $1,000 reserve growth and $1,000 next accessible-resource improvement. The $11,000 reserve target equals one $7,000 cohort delivery allowance plus one $4,000 month of shared cost. Starting from the assumed $4,000 opening reserve, the additional target gap is $7,000, reached after seven base months of $1,000 reserve growth if receipts, costs, restrictions and obligations allow. The $4,000 opening reserve is part of the $11,000 target, not an extra expense to count again. Resource-improvement allocation and actual spending must be recorded separately; no cash, surplus or completed improvement is claimed. This edition does not supply an annual cash forecast: the v0.1 first-year $44,000 cash-source figure and $24,000 other-source figure are withdrawn because they mixed periods and counted held reserve incorrectly. Annual planning requires actual period boundaries, delivery/receipt timing, staffing capacity, opening cash and obligations. No donor/grant/opening balance is invented. Pledges, restricted money, refundable deposits, actual received unrestricted cash and personal income are distinct. Timing/use/refund obligations must be checked before spending.
School-side release illustration, separately funded:24 teachers×8.5 hours×$35 assumed loaded release/substitute cost=$7,140. This is not part of the provider $7,000 or a quote. Existing class use does not make teacher time free. Actual substitutes, travel, additional access/interpretation, taxes, payment fees, legal review and complex cases need actual estimates. Remote format may reduce travel while adding support/platform demands; compare total resources rather than promise universal savings.
| Useful offer | Potential payer/beneficiary | Launch requirements |
|---|---|---|
| Bounded cohort/coaching | Authorized school/district purchaser; teachers/learners benefit. | Defined subject adaptation, access/burden review, actual contract/refund/rights and funds. |
| School-specific adaptation | Institution pays for authorized work on existing lessons. | Complete solutions and usable materials within funded hours; attribution/license limits. |
| Scholarship support | Verified permissible donor/partner funds or explicit cross-subsidy. | Full delivery resources for waived places; restrictions tracked. |
| Authorized publications/kits/licenses | Readers/institutions; independently established business licensees pay nonprofit for products. | Actual material rights and executed terms; no assumed subsidiary, royalty income or tax qualification. |
No checkout, fee collection, contract, subscription, provider activation or credential is enabled here. T07 must name real scope/payer/authority/capacity/refund/access terms. D1/D3 retain applicable legal/rights review; paid training does not establish charitable or tax treatment.
Prospective school pilot and time review
State NOT_AUTHORIZED / NOT_STARTED. Aim:test feasibility, subject learning, full rotation, access, preparation burden and individual-help opportunity before expanding. School/class/date, teacher/observer/custodian, authority and outcomes are UNASSIGNED/NOT_COLLECTED. E3 owns the full research design and empirical claims. An instructional trial cannot silently become approved research or an effectiveness claim.
| Stage | Proposed action | Decision/evidence |
|---|---|---|
| P0 Review | Resolve school purpose/rights, safe access, approval/data-use/retention, funded release and comparable tasks. | T05/T07;HOLD until actual requirements resolved. |
| P1 Baseline | Three ordinary lessons of similar subject difficulty where feasible; normal individual checks and timing/prep/support. | T04;context/missingness; labels alone do not prove comparability. |
| P2 First attempt | Full rotation, sampled event, individual work, unmet support and access check. | T01–04;stop unsafe/exclusionary practice. |
| P3 Revision/second attempt | Change one documented feature where practical; repeat planned measures; preserve original version. | T08;no selective replacement of failed data. |
| P4 Follow-up | Short delayed subject/transfer check about one week later if schedule allows; record intervening teaching. | T06;missing learners remain missing. |
| P5 Review | Subject/fidelity/access/burden/support/adverse/null outcomes;keep/revise/stop/E3 handoff. | T08;no automatic scale-up or credential claim. |
Record total class elapsed minutes; mutually exclusive teacher-attention categories; individual-help episodes nested within elapsed time; recipients/unmet needs through appropriately controlled local codes; extra prep/setup/reflection and reporting minutes; actual role completion/access; normal independent subject result/delayed transfer; interruptions, exclusion, distress and response. No mandatory private health/emotion history, public student ledger or routine video. Record observer effects and added measurement load.
Editorial feasibility gates:all learners have every-role opportunity or a specific supported make-up plan; preserve main-subject objective and individual check; no unsafe/persistently exclusionary grouping; more than 10 extra prep minutes per routine lesson on repeated use triggers simplification review, with first-use setup separate; unmet support or reduced subject practice triggers review even when help minutes rise. These are proposed review triggers, not validated cutoffs; document local alternatives before use.
Immediate stop/revert:unsafe interaction; persistent access barrier; forced private disclosure; humiliation/person ranking; lost required instruction; unapproved data disclosure; unfunded/unmanageable delivery commitment. Teacher uses ordinary school support/safety processes and records a bounded account; learning roles confer no diagnostic, disciplinary or investigatory powers.
| Fictional worked time review | Ordinary lessons | Supported attempts | Descriptive calculation/limit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Individual-help minutes | 6,7,5 | 10,9 | Means 6 and 9.5;difference+3.5 min. |
| Extra prep minutes | 4,5,3 | 12,7 | Means 4 and 9.5;difference+5.5 min;first attempt may include setup. |
| Elapsed class | 40,40,40 | 40,40 | No modeled elapsed change; do not add nested help again. |
| Subject/access outcomes | Not supplied | Not supplied | Cannot conclude learner benefit or success; all figures invented. |
This is not a net-benefit or causal calculation. A class-minute of student support and a minute of preparation have different contexts/opportunity costs. Alternative explanations include task difficulty, attendance, teacher differences, prior learning, novelty, observer support, familiarity, timetable and resources. Two uncontrolled attempts do not establish causation, reliability or generalizability. Retain null/worse results and missingness with denominators. JSON companion holds prospective definitions and NOT_COLLECTEDstates, not student data.

Sources and design provenance
Current controlled source:PA_Curriculum_Master_v0.3.docx, Library identity libfile_3f6fe44033948191a51465dae29c9e62; its definitions/rotation/lesson/solutions/assessment/event standards were applied during v0.1 preparation and are unchanged by this revision. James Dunn’s later corrections and RP standing rules govern source conflicts. The v0.2 funding reconciliation uses fresh October 9,2026 authenticated reads of Sustainable Funding WP2545 #school-example and Teacher Preparation WP2533 #assessor-preparation. B1 is the monthly scenario; A3 supplies the 30-hour assessor/18-hour independent decision-review allocation. The earlier v0.1 statement that its annual/40-hour funding interpretation was B1-reconciled was incorrect. Original source editions and historical index/register entries remain preserved; the dated reconciliation report and latest RP identify the corrections.
